If you don’t know what I’m talking about then THAT MEANS YOU!

Problem is that it seems some of them have a hard time detecting the correct HDMI mode for your TV.

Short answer:

If your Blu-Ray is connected with HDMI and you are getting a horrible crackling and flickering then you need to change your HDMI mode.  I had this problem with both a Samsung and Vizio Blu-Ray connected to a LG Plasma.  Here’s what I did on the Vizio:

- Check your Manual for more information!
- Mute the sound or if you can’t stand the flickering then switch to the A/V cable that came with your player.
- Hit the SETUP (or MENU or SETTINGS) button on your Blu-Ray remote and go to DISPLAY (or whatever looks like it would have HDMI settings)
- Go to your HDMI mode option and change it from HDMI AUTO to 1080i or 720p

- Picture should be fixed!  (switch back to HDMI if you were using A/V cable to make the changes)

Long Answer:

Most big screen LCD and Plasma TVs are 1080i/720p but the latest Blu-Ray players are 1080p.

The number (720 or 1080) is the number of lines scanned across the screen.

The letter (i/p) indicates whether every other line is scanned each frame (i for interlaced) or whether every line is scanned every time (p for progressive).

1080p is the highest resolution and highest frame rate possible but only the top of the line televisions support it right now.

Blu-Ray players seem to be shipping in HDMI AUTO or 1080p mode and they aren’t dropping down to 1080i or 720p automatically.

Consult your manual or try the Short Answer instructions above to change the HDMI mode and enjoy your movies!

I wonder if the Democrat leadership wants to thin the heard in 2010?  Pushing forward on this bill is certainly going to cause some losses on the left if polls are any indication.

I bet they are going to take this all the way and settle for a Clinton-style administration for Obama after 2010.

Obama thought he had America on his side during the election, but if he hadn’t lied through his teeth he never would have gotten elected.
Now that Obama is sinking at a record rate he absolutely needs Republicans to have more power in congress so he can fight against them.

Right now he is fighting the will of America because Senators are too afraid to pass the kind of radical reform that they crave.  Instead they are settling for a slightly watered down version that will take longer to overtake private insurance (the painfully obvious end goal of these bills) and will be easier to repeal later if the tide turns.

I bet Obama wishes that he could be fighting the Republicans instead of his own party.  A lot of people don’t realize that Republicans are the ones that did great things during the “Clinton” years.  I think Obama will get a stronger Republican party to fight in 2010… but I don’t think they reach majority until 2012.

I bet the media can’t wait to report on the “Republican Lawmakers” that are blocking Obama’s wonderful reforms.

The media has a hard time pointing out that Democrats are the opposition to healthcare reform.  They have the votes without Republicans… so if this thing is so great then why wasn’t it passed a month ago?

I was listening to All things considered on NPR today and they had the most biased coverage I’d heard in a while.  They are truly cheerleaders for the liberal agenda.  It is obvious in the way they talk about the bill.  The thing that really annoyed me is how they talk about all the people that the bill insures.  THE BILL DOESN’T INSURE ANYONE!  IT JUST FORCES THE TAX PAYER TO INSURE PEOPLE!  Why does everyone on NPR act like Democrats are so great for trying to pass this?  All it does is take more money from productive people and put it into government which time and time again proves that it is completely incompetent.

I just wish NPR and MPR would be honest about their bias.  I guess wh ben you tell the same lie enough times you eventually startelieving it.

(DISCLAIMER: I am still displeased with Republicans and I bet that if they get power again they will screw up again… so don’t even try to think that I’m a fan of theirs)

It doesn’t take the Inventor of the Internet to know that the center of the earth isn’t Millions of degrees.  Try several thousand.  At least his global warming fabrications aren’t off by a factor of 1000…. or are they?   Does he even have the direction of the change right?  Wait, sorry… I forgot that ANY change in temperature/precipitation/hurricanes/tornadoes/groundhogs are now called Global Climate Change.

They want to take away my freedom to choose my health care plan! There is so much more to the bills, but that one indisputable fact proves that these bills are perverse.

It is unconstitutional and immoral for the Federal government to be involved in these matters.

What happened to the 10th amendment?  What is so wrong about letting states make these decisions?

I have much more to say on this subject but I don’t even want to think about it because it will just make me angry.

These Democrat proposals will fail just like Medicare and Social Security.  The fail constitutionally, economically, and morally.

Just a quick recap on the crisis….
Liberals in government (Democrats and Republicans) wanted to bribe voters by promising everyone a home. even if they couldn’t afford it.
They passed legislation and threatened lawsuits that forced banks to make loans that could only be sustained by constantly rising home prices.  The banks didn’t mind making the loans because the interest rates were high and the risk wasn’t.  In a free market the risk would have been high, but this is no free market.  No, we have Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac which are government-sponsored banks that buy sub-prime mortgages from private banks.  No one would want these loans except that Fannie and Freddie are backed by the government, a fact that was proven by the 2008 bailouts.  The problem is that the bad loans didn’t just take down Fannie and Freddie.  They created mortgage-backed securities and re-sold them on the open market to other institutions.  People were eager to buy them because they seemed like a good deal and there was some level of protection from the federal government… another fact that was proven by the various bank and financial institution bailouts!
In 2008 the housing market tanked and people were underwater on their loans.  The defaults started and the banking system started to bleed.

Fast forward to today.  We’ve bailed out the major banks and we’ve temporarily stimulated the economy at the expense of Trillions of government debt that our children and grandchildren will have to pay for.

Moral of the story: GOVERNMENT IS A F*** UP.  IT NEEDS TO BE LIMITED AND RETURNED TO CONSTITUTIONALITY.

FDR shredded the constitution and since then government has grown with little to stop it.

OK, enough ranting…. back to NPR.

NPR had an economist on that said that the way to prevent another banking crisis is putting FEAR of losing money in the hearts of bankers.

WTF!?!?!?!?!  That is EXACTLY WHAT THE FREE MARKET DOES.  If you make bad investments in a free market then you lose your money.  Government guarantees CAUSED the banking crisis.  Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac were guaranteed by the federal government and that’s why they bought so many bad loans.  If they hadn’t been there to buy bad loans then banks wouldn’t have made them.

In a free market you don’t have problems with bad investment!   People that make bad investments go out of business!  People that make good investments will succeed.

Collectivists simply hate freedom.  NPR is clearly run by collectivists.  They’re so blinded by their ideology that they can’t see that FREEDOM IS ALWAYS THE SOLUTION.

MPR is nice because it doesn’t have many commercials and the ones they do have are very short.  I also like the fact that they cover more world news than other media outlets.

Yes, MPR would be a great news outlet… if they weren’t impostors!
After weeks of listening to MPR on a daily basis I have heard nothing but collectivist opionions the entire time.  NOT ONCE have I heard a conservative opionion on the program.  Sure, they mention conservative opinions but they are almost always misrepresented and used to construct a straw man that they can swing their axes at.
EVERY SINGLE commentator I have heard has been a liberal.  Once they had Arne Carlson on the program and I think Walter Mondale was on with him.  That was their idea of a balanced debate.  Sorry MPR, but Arne Carlson is a flaming LIBERAL!  He endorsed Barack Obama, the great collectivist of our time.  ARE YOU PEOPLE SERIOUS?!?!

You might think I’m crazy for hating on MPR when KTLK and FOX News are even more opionated.  Well here is the key difference:

FOX and KTLK have CONSERVATIVE COMMENTATORS and BALANCED REPORTING!

You will not find reporting more fair than FOX News (KTLK uses FOX News Radio)!  Yes, their ***commentators*** are conservative but they are upfront and honest about it.
Rush Limbaugh and Bill O’reilly are 100% honest about their viewpoints.  The people on MPR are imposters!  I have never heard them come clean about their liberal bias.

I was just listening to a show this evening that was talking about how some musicians are angry about music being used at Gitmo.

They had some guest on that was completely on the side of the artists and was acting like the detainees are heroes and the Americans trying to stop the next terrorist attack are evil!  Honestly, if we can’t even play loud music to terrorist then why don’t we all just blow ourselves up right now!  Having a loon like that guest on a program is fine as long as you have someone else to balance the converstation.  The host was clearly on the side of the loon and there was no other guest to give a mainstream American opinion.

If that same topic was on a FOX report (or even a commentary show) they would definetily have both sides represented.

Anyone who thinks FOX and KTLK’s ****REPORTING**** is not Fair and Balanced has never watched or listened!

MPR is a joke becuase their reporting is biased and they don’t admit it!

FOX and KTLK are patriots because their reporting is fair and their commentary is honest!

Normally, I’d be annoyed that our president was wasting my money and his time on sports… but I’ll let it slide because at least he’s temporarily distracted from shoving socialism down our throats.
